JOB SUMMARY

This individual will be a key leader/change agent in the drive to build Sanofi’s consumer/shopper-centric, innovative marketing organization. Subject matter expert on role of consumer promotions, tactics (both traditional and innovation) and best practices.  Inspire the organization through his/her promotional, digital and shopper marketing expertise, creative thinking, and analytical approach to measuring outcomes and applying lessons learned.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for providing both strategic and tactical execution of key US offline and online consumer promotions and shopper marketing initiatives for designated categories/brands.  Leader for shopper & consumer promotions within the national brand experience planning process. Develop consumer promotions strategies by category and tactic for use in Customer Business Planning Process. Engage with Sales and Shopper Agency to ensure customized consumer promotion and shopper marketing activation at the customer level for maximum impact.  Owner of key vendor relationships and accountabilities. 

  • Lead development of annual brand consumer promotion plans to include results review, budget alignment, tactic plan optimization and test & learn opportunities 

  • Support plan development and programs execution for assigned categories relating to all consumer promotions activation – FSI’s, digital coupons, digital rewards programs (i.e. IBotta), promotions, sweepstakes, receipt marketing (i.e. Catalina), ratings and reviews, sampling)

  • Lead shopper marketing annual strategy creation, retailer specific program development, program execution and recap/review for assigned categories/brands

  • Collaborate with an integrated team (Integrated Marketing, Brand, Sales Strategy, Shopper Insights, Design, etc.) to establish forward thinking activation strategies

  • Included in Brand Experience Planning to ensure close connection with individual categories and brands

  • They must have strong financial acumen with respect for efficient spending and support brand financial/analytical needs including MMM

  • Manage administration for contracts, billing process and payment for their assigned categories/brands

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and the competitive marketplace related to consumer and shopper communications and identify the implications to our business

  • Assist in evaluating new agency partners, negotiating staffing and fee solutions, identify new tools for efficiency etc.

  • Drive innovation, along with agency and marketing partners, across all marketing communication efforts by identifying emerging opportunities that enhance the marketing mix and support brand communication objectives

  • Must have a critical eye to agency recommendations and/or brand creative work for consumer promotions and shopper marketing

  • Have a passion for following and understanding the fast-changing digital landscape to influence future planning

  • Foster strong relationships internally with Brand Teams, the Integrated Marketing Team, E-commerce Strategy and Sales Strategy teams and externally with vendors and key agency partners

  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to affect change in the organization with excellent interpersonal and influential selling skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in marketing /Communication or related fields with 4-7 years of Marketing or Agency experience (including Digital, Promotions, Shopper or Customer Marketing), preferably with Consumer-Packaged Goods background

  • Strong Consumer Promotions background

  • Experience with Digital Marketing

  • Brand Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Field Sales or Retailer/Customer background is a plus

  • Consumer / Customer focused with the ability to work cross functionally

  • Passion for driving results and influencing business plans

  • Experience with Agency Management is a plus

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for building organizational capability, set direction and produce results

  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment; innovative and creative
