The Director of Market Access & Strategic Pricing (MAx ) for Venglustat, Fabry, and Gaucher International Markets will manage the market access and pricing (MAx) strategy for venglustat (all indications) as well as the existing Fabry & Gaucher portfolios in all markets outside of North America, EU and JPAC, to ensure effective access and pricing in emerging markets in line with worldwide ambition. (Final market scope may vary with possibility to expand over time.) They will be part of the Rare Disease Global Market Access and Strategic Pricing team, reporting directly to the Global Venglustat&Pompe MAx lead, and must work in close coordination with the MAxP global lead for Fabry & Gaucher.

Key Results & Accountabilities:

  • Tailor global MAx venglustat strategy / define & implement venglustat MAx strategy for international emerging markets
  • Support development of key pricing & market access deliverables (MAx blueprint, value story, payer objection handler and negotiation guide, pricing and contracting strategy including development and implementation of specific access approaches/tools for China and other emerging markets, including innovative access schemes where appropriate, launch sequence); tailor global deliverables for emerging market audience
  • Identify evidence gaps needed to sustain venglustat access across emerging markets (including epidemiology, patient outcomes, cost-effectiveness, budget impact) and work contribute cross-functionally to support evidence needs
  • Provide market access and pricing input for emerging markets into venglustat forecasts, including strategic, operational and financial forecasting and Portfolio Review process
  • Develop emerging markets launch strategy to optimize RD franchise value (i.e. assess tradeoffs between venglustat opportunity & cross-portfolio risk)
  • Support optimal pricing and access of existing Fabry and Gaucher Disease portfolios in emerging markets in ongoing negotiations and tenders including participation in Tender Task Force
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge with regards to the scientific, clinical and commercial developments in the therapeutic area(s) as well as a robust understanding of relevant recommendations, pricing and funding criteria used by payers in international markets to make informed decisions about payer strategy, plans and tactics;
  • Monitor the marketplace for market access issues, threats & opportunities, particularly for rare diseases, and research issues appropriately


  • BA/BS and 5+ years relevant professional experience including market access, pricing & reimbursement, health economics
  • Experience at global or local/regional level in key markets in scope required; knowledge of international markets payer environment
  • Proven track record of leading within a matrixed environment to reach business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to take on highly complex business problems, recommend strategic and tactical solutions in a simple and straightforward manner
  • Exhibits outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within Sanofi
  • Demonstrated relationship building at all levels of the organization and across geographies
  • Experience on multi-indication product is a strong positive
