Within the Finance Department, we are looking for a dedicated and team-oriented new colleague to join the new Tax Team we are building for Sanofi Consumer Healthcare. In that respect, we are very much attached to find a candidate with a strong sense of commitment, towards the tasks, the business and the team.

Although mostly located in France, our Tax team is spread over many geographies and we offer you to be part of an international setting with many contacts across different functions and countries. As part of the EULA Tax Team (that is operationally responsible for tax matters in Europe and Latin America), you will report to the CHC Senior Tax Manager for Europe (located in Frankfort) who is a member of the team headed by our CHC Head of Tax for Europe (located in France).

Your main responsibilities

This position will play a key role to ensure proper CHC tax compliance & reporting with the focus on local tax compliance in Germany.

The purpose of this role is to autonomously execute and supervise:

  • independent management of tax matters relating to our CHC operations in Germany, in particular regarding corporate income taxes;
  • active support and supervision of the tax and accounting experts in the shared service center with regard to all German and cross border tax issues;
  • ensuring tax compliance of our German entity(is) such as preparing tax returns, calculating interest limits, reviewing tax assessments, tax accounting, communicating with tax authorities or DAC 6;
  • monitoring of the tax advance payments as well as the tax cash flow and application for reduction of tax advance payments where required;
  • review of monthly VAT calculations and returns and process optimization;
  • participation in the quarterly reporting process incl. calculation of deferred taxes
  • involvement in withholding tax
    • license income and payments,
    • drafting and reviewing tax clauses in contracts,
    • continuous process optimization
    • reviewing of quarterly tax declarations
    • application for tax exemption certificates
  • main contact person in and organization of the tax audit (compilation and analysis of documents, legal assessment, development of strategy and responses)
  • participation to the preparation of tax opinions
  • continuing the development of internal tax compliance guidelines and creation of a local tax compliance management system, including analysis and documentation of tax relevant processes, drawing up manuals and instructions, provision of trainings, as well as implementation and monitoring of appropriate risk controls
  • drive continuous improvement of processes including automatization and digitalization
  • ensure compliance with CHC policies and guidelines
  • update of local transfer price documentation for the German group entity(ies)

About you

  • Master's degree in business administration, law or comparable studies with a focus in tax law or comparable training in the tax administration
  • successful tax advisor exam
  • ideally, 5-7 years of experience as tax specialist in a multinational company (former experience in an auditing firm would be a plus)
  • experience with tax compliance topics
  • process and digital affinity, experience in implementing tax tools would be appreciated
  • enjoy working in a global corporate organization
  • team capability and strong communication skills
  • accustomed to working independently and hands on mindset
  • experience with SAP and MS Office products
  • very good knowledge of English and German in both word and writing.
