iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

We are looking for: Business Partner Project Controls - VIE Contract (W/M)

Target start date: 01/07/2024

This position reports to the Project Portfolio Manager of the Geel Site, within the Sanofi Specialty Care department of Sanofi Manufacturing & Supply.

The candidate will be located in the Geel manufacturing site. He or she will execute Project Control activities and fulfill various financial and digital needs to numerous local and network stakeholders.

This role is a key business partner to our operational teams in the manufacturing site, mainly focusing on Project Controls. We are looking for a qualified, energetic candidate with economic background and affinity with Project Management. The candidate needs to have good communication, analytical and digital skills.

You will demonstrate your capability to work transversely and will also assume a variety of responsibilities in the areas of Financial Controlling, Reporting, and problem solving.

This person will act as a lead for Project controlling. However, the responsibilities for this position are transformative in nature and will follow the needs of the site.

Main responsibilities:


Forecasts / closing of actuals:

  • Ensure timely and accurate project and fixed asset reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support and participate in month end close activities which include monthly review of actuals, accruals preparation, perform accounting entries, provide visibility on performance to project managers and our project portfolio manager.
  • Identify and report risks and opportunities.
  • Verification if project financials are still within budget limits.
  • Build and issue templates easy to understand for individuals not familiar with Finance.

Project Controlling:

  • Support the business in preparing business cases and NPV analysis.
  • Supports Project Managers in correct project reporting and milestone preparation (use of the templates, check milestone deliverables, challenge benefit realization/business case).
  • Participation in monthly project steerco meetings.
  • Participation in milestone governance meetings.
  • Initiation of Strategic Project Endorsement requests to enable budget approval for projects.
  • Initiation of projects in the appropriate systems to enable purchase orders for projects.
  • Training & support of Project Managers to implement a new way of working for Project Financials.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Economic or Engineering background with a good attitude towards finance. Preferably a Master’s Degree.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience and affinity in Project Management.
  • Solid financial knowledge.
  • Strong digital skills.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI is considered a plus.
  • Accurate, proactive, team player, stress-resistant, continuous improvement-oriented person.
  • Good communication and networking skills (transversal collaboration).
  • Capacity to coordinate several activities and stakeholders.
  • Hands on and can-do attitude.
  • Self-starter with strong drive and enthusiasm.
