Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Team Leader
Sanofi strategic direction is to standardize processes across sites, to embrace the digital transformation of its Manufacturing & Supply perimeter, looking at the opportunity to simplify its current solution landscape and leverage advanced technologies to bring business value.
In that context, the MARS program aims to implement the Computer-assisted batch review, enabled by the definition and roll-out of a core Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The MARS (MES Accelerated Roadmap @ Sanofi) program will transform Sanofi plants, improving compliance, cost and cycle time performance.
Over the last 3 years, Sanofi has deployed 30 Production sites across 4 GBUs (multiple and different pharmaceutical processes, 18 Weighing & Dispensing & 12 full MES), and a second wave, should start in the coming years (> 50 production sites, pending business case confirmation).
This represents a strategic opportunity for an Manufacturing & Supply transformation to:
Design standardized end-to-end processes to generate business value for Industrial Affairs and deliver best-in-class solutions to our industrial sites, with a high focus on electronic batch record management (content, execution) & review by exception process;
Deliver innovative "state of the art" tools enabling performance for manufacturing processes across the industrial affair sites;
Allow new generation of deployment – more Agile & business centric
Maintain robust and highly available digital solutions to operate industrial processes efficiently
About the job
The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Team Leader is a dynamic leader interested in managing day-to-day operations for Manufacturing initiatives at Sanofi’s talent hub. He is interested in ensuring that delivery meets execution, leading a team that is contribuiting to build and support (Development, configuration, tests) a suite of MES & satellites products on scalable technology platforms.
This role includes the implementation & guarantee of appropriation of the Sanofi / Digital Global Standard within the talent hub team, ensuring the leveraging of the global operating model, the Digital Agile Mindset, the architecture & infrastructure standard, the program management (leading specifics projects as well as providing oversight for selected program areas), and support delivery of work on a GxP environment.
He works in close collaboration with MES Digital Product Owners, MES Capability leader, MES Service Line manager & MES program manager. He remains up to date on company’s standards, Digital industry practices and emerging standards and contributes to Digital standards maintenance.

Koerber MES PAS-X Product (named INOVA for Sanofi)
Siemens MES Opcenter Execution Pharma Product (named MARS for Sanofi)
Talent hub build & operate:
With MES Product Line Manager, Product Owners & Service Delivery Manager & MES program manager define target operating model.
Establish Recruitment strategy of the MES profiles in talent hub & drive the recruitment (Target of 16 persons).
Define & drive the onboarding plan including trainings for new hires.
Manage MES Talent Hub staff (MES Full Engineer, MES DevOps Engineer, MES Developers) and manage daily operations for Sanofi’s Manufacturing and Supply MES related activities.
Ensure that all the Talent Hub team is able to travel to the whole Sanofi industrial network where MES is in use. (Visa management, ...)
Act as key conduit between Global Digital Manufacturing & Supply teams (MES product lines, GBUs) and talent hub MES staff.
Facilitate and manage implementation of various MES projects (incl. product builds, data foundations), and own as appropriate accountability for results of talent hub teams.
Responsible for re-alignment and support of major MES programs in Digital M&S, and resource allocation management for various projects.
Ensure talent hub data teams adopt digital wide standards for product management, agile adoption and portfolio management.
Work with product owners to identify mechanisms to support Product build & delivery, implementation or upgrade projects.
Work with MES Service Manager to bring high level expertise in the context of business critical incidents.
Leverage and engage resources across the organization to ensure team priorities are delivered.
Drive the definition of the Talent hub team capability – seeing that it is well defined, budgeted, resourced, and aligned with the evolving priorities of the organization, connecting the dots between various projects, programs and people at Sanofi.
Work with MES Product Line Manager in appropriate program oversight and strategy related activities.
Within the Talent hub, facilitate the transfer of know-how, experience and best practices.
Delivery and Quality of services:
Safeguard the proper design and build of core solutions as close to standard market solutions as possible,on the basis of state-of-the-art best practices and aiming at aligning processes and enabling industrial efficiency across the different industrial sites of Sanofi.
Ensure the compliance of the solutions within his hub in relation to legal and regulatory requirements
Contribute of the on-time delivery of projects of his domain ensuring robust, cost effective solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction, and business value focusDefine indicators for delivery, performance and quality of service, monitor and communicate them.
Define & follow action plans when objective are not met. o Define continuous improvement process.
Experience & Knowledge:
15+ years work experience in Digital for Manufacturing domain.
Significant & demonstrated experience of Manufacturing Processes in pharmaceutical industrial plants.
Significant & demonstrated experience of Digital ecosystem from Product Build & Delivery to service management.
Significant & demonstrated experience in multicultural / multilanguage / multigeographical environment and in a matricial organization.
Significant & demonstrated experience in the set-up & operation of a digital Service center (Buid, Testing, Delivery & Support of products)
Successful & significant Projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies would be a plus.
Core functional skills
Significant MES in a GxP context experience.
Knowledge of MES solution Koerber PAS-X (&/or) Siemens OPCEnter Execution Pharma.
Knowledge of business processes covered by a standard MES System, from Weighing & Dispensing to Master Batch Record and Review by Exception business processes.
Strong Knowledge of pharma industry regulatory context(GxP).
Knowledge of Solution architecture & integration.
Knowledge of Infrastructure technologies & services.
Knowledge of Automation layer (Scada, DCS, PLCs, industrial protocols).
Strong communication, and interaction skills.
Able to drive change management.
Agile mindset, accountability, reliability.
Ability to challenge, open minded and active listening.
Ability to collaborate and build effective network inside and outside Sanofi.

Education: Engineering or master in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Mobility : Punctual travels to Sanofi offices in France where MES product Line is located
