The mRNA Center of Excellence seeks entrepreneurial and forward-thinking individuals to drive and support the development of Computational and Machine Learning (ML) solutions to improve the efficiency, scale and effectiveness of our mRNA platform and technologies.

S/he will work as part of a global team of computational and scientific experts and bring their breadth of experience in lipid chemistry, cheminformatics and machine learning to the task of developing and implementing first-in-class and best-in-class computational solutions and models for screening, optimizing and evaluating lipid nanoparticles and formulations for mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics. 


  • Contribute to the development of data and computational solutions for the integration of chemical, structural, and biological data to support data analytics and visualization
  • Design, develop and validate robust analytical and machine learning approaches to support in silico characterization, screening, optimization and analysis of lipid nanoparticles and mRNA - nanoparticle formulations
  • Provide scientific and technical leadership in computational chemistry including structure-based design, QSAR, cheminformatics and modern AI/machine learning approaches
  • Proactively identify, assess, and internalize emerging technologies and methods
  • Generate IP and participates in the drafting of patent filings


Experience & Knowledge

  • PhD or Masters in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or related field with 2+ years industry experience
  • Experience integrating biological, chemical, and structural data
  • Extensive experience in computational and statistical analysis, structure activity analysis, cheminformatics, modelling and machine learning algorithms
  • Expertise in scientific computing (python, R) and cheminformatic software
  • Strong combination of theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, scientific writing, and presentation skills
  • Experience in RNA biology and RNA-nanoparticle formulations a plus
