We are building Digital R&D products developing outstanding capabilities that will participate in new drug discovery together with scientists, in trial efficiency and cycle time reduction, leveraging Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.

Remote working : 2 days remote working, 3 days on site

Main responsibilities:

• Technical and people leadership and guidance for software engineering teams, engineers love to work with you
• Experience developing high performance, highly available & scalable applications with a micro-services architecture and an understanding of observability
• Experience working with distributed teams
• Deep Technical understanding of modern web architectures and frameworks
• In depth exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Ability to drive continuous improvement through multiple cross-platform teams
• Ability to learn fast, and a passion for learning absolutely essential
• Diverse programming language experience preferred
• Proven experience of agile practices
• Assist with practices and principles to ensure adoption across teams, as well as measuring and maintaining maturity
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
• Manage vendors to ensure delivery of initiatives per requirements and design
• Help us grow and develop our engineering culture
• Lead the vision, strategy and values within the team and across the Digital Accelerator
• Build out innovative technology competencies

You are a software engineer that want to collaborate with teammates to implement a new feature and help improve our products. Add to our existing services or roll out a new service to support this feature. Identify and help troubleshoot an issue affecting users in one of our many regions in the world. Participate in defining new product requirements and design together with the product team.

Experience:

• Experience leading a group of developers, evaluating performance, and providing objective and actionable feedback
• Experience in scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
• Experience working with both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional, interdisciplinary environment, including strong written and verbal communication skills
• MS in software engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
• Experience in the healthcare industry is a strong plus

Soft skills:

• Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams inside a global engineering team
• You like to move fast, but with caution
• High energy, confident, and ambitious individual
• Must be a passionate communicator, willing to challenge and enhance ideas while preserving relationships
• Interested in lots of aspects of technology, not just one tech!

Technical skills:

We have a diverse stack and as long as you are willing to work with a microservices approach,we are open-minded about your technology preferences. You’ll have the ability to explore new technologies and strategies.

Some of the key tech we use:

• Backends: GraphQL, Node.js
• We use key components of the AWS stack: Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS and more of the core services
• Frontends: React.js
• You don’t have to be a specialist in everything but willing to learn

Education:

• MS in software engineering or computer science or equivalent
