This position is a compliance manager position.

JOB SUMMARY

This role operates within the Ethics and Business Integrity (EBI) department of South Korea & Australia / New Zealand MCO, fostering collaboration with various departments such as Business, Legal, People & Culture, Finance, and external resources. Reporting directly to the Head of EBI South Korea & Australia/NZ MCO, the position involves exercising judgment to assess EBI-related matters, executing EBI programs, and supporting business needs. The incumbent collaborates as an agile business partner and cross-functional collaborator, aligning with Sanofi's corporate strategies, including Thoughtful Risk Taking, promoting a positive ethical organizational culture, and facilitating ethical decision-making.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role, under the guidance of the Head of EBI South Korea & Australia/NZ MCO, supports for the EBI department of South Korea & Australia / New Zealand MCO to:

  • Implement, execute, and oversee the effectiveness of EBI program elements and framework, including the Sanofi Code of Conduct, as defined by Global Ethics and Business Integrity.

  • Actively engage in business initiatives, such as new product launches and patient programs, ensuring compliance and ethics. Provide advisory and consultative services, actively interact with GBU members and Global Functions, and participate in meetings to detect and identify possible risks as an EBI Business Partner.

  • Support and assist GBUs in ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of ethics and a risk-opportunity balanced approach through (co-)creating, (co-)executing, and disseminating programs and initiatives.

  • Actively participate in tasks, projects, initiatives, and programs from global EBI, including special projects and business process improvement and futuristic innovation efforts.

  • Develop, disseminate, and ensure the development of standards and procedures to ensure compliance in all aspects of the company’s activities.

  • Provide strategic and effective tactical support through appropriate communications and consultation for ethics-related issues to the business and the organization.

  • Conduct monitoring, audits, and internal investigations on a regular or ad-hoc basis, including primary case review, evidence documentation, relevant system management, case report preparation, and implementation of corrective and disciplinary actions. Follow up on relevant legal disputes.

  • Prepare reports for MCO Council and Ethics and Business Integrity Committee meetings regarding the status and effectiveness of the EBI Program, EBI obligations, investigation and resolution of relevant issues, and corrective actions.

  • Create, implement, and manage various EBI communications, networks, Gigs, engagement initiatives, and programs, including the EBI Champions Program and TRT Scrum, to foster EBI culture throughout the organization and enhance operational integrity and the ethical mindset of employees.

  • Devise and implement anti-bribery and other ethics-related processes, including but not limited to EBI-based retention (Conflict of Interest management, etc.) and management of third parties (Anti-bribery Due Diligence, etc.).

  • Interact with relevant governmental and public offices, the KRPIA, and other related industry forums to represent and demonstrate Sanofi’s highest ethical standards and ensure the industry ecosystem reaches the highest ethics level.

  • Closely monitor healthcare system, laws, and regulations and advise the Head of EBI for alignment with the changing environment.

  • Maintain the team operation excellence of the EBI departmentof South Korea & Australia / New Zealand MCO, including organizing committees, network meetings, EBI events, and trainings. Manage EBI-related records, documents, systems, database, and archives. Manage vendors and other administrative resources used by the EBI department for its operation. Manage the team’s budget and costs, operational schedule, stationery, and team’s space and cabinets. Provide other relevant supports for the team.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Languages: 

Proficiency in both English and Korean

Education:

Appropriate Degree in any discipline (master preferable)

CPA, MBA degree, or lawyer license is plus

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5~15 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical healthcare business operations, preferably in multi-national organization, including Sales and Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Internal Control functions.

  • Compliance function experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of control and risk systems, along with experience in training and communication.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Medical/Pharmaceutical Affairs Laws, Anti-graft Law, Fair Trade Law, IFPMA/KRPIA industrial compliance codes, USFCPA and anti-bribery regulations are preferred.

  • Proficient in using Doc, Excel, Ppt, and other relevant software and systems.
