Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Summary of purpose/major responsibilities
The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day support of syringe and vial, Filling, and Inspection equipment by solving operating problems, carrying out repairs, and performing preventative maintenance tasks. The candidate will be required to follow good documentation practices, perform aseptic cleanroom gowning and strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
The Maintenance Technician will have interactions with all levels of the organization including HSE, Industrial Operations, Engineering, R&D, vendors, and various other support groups.
Key accountabilities
Troubleshoot equipment failures, determine root cause, repair/replace components
Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance tasks
Adhere to Preventative Maintenance schedules
Maintain Aseptic Qualifications
Support Team Leader and Maintenance Planner by completing assigned tasks, ordering parts, and maintaining a clean, organized working environment
Completion of work orders and time entries into the SAP system
Completion of all assigned training modules, SOP’s, SWI’s, safety, and compliance requirements
Responsible for working safely, maintaining a safe work environment, performing safety GEMBAs and completing Technical Services safety objectives.
Learn from and share knowledge with the maintenance and operations teams
All other duties as assigned
Context of the job/major challenges
The ability to multitask, troubleshoot, evaluate, and repair equipment is critical to the success of this role and the maintenance department. This position requires the technician to work on intricate and site-specific equipment and systems. The equipment and systems include both GMP and non GMP areas.
The 24/7 GMP production environment requires maintenance technicians to work up to 25% overtime with short notice and working various shifts depending on business needs and production cycles.
The technician interfaces closely with the customers to provide reliable, safe, and efficient equipment operation and uptime.
The role can influence and impact the productivity and efficiency of manufacturing operations and other site support functions with the recommendations and decisions that are made to repair and/or replace equipment or facilities.
The work performed by the Technician and documentation of this work has a direct impact on the manufacturing operations and quality results of the site.
Education/experience
Associate Level Technician
Associate degree program in a technical trade school and/or 2+ years of work experience in a technical trade environment
Working in a team setting
Basic computer skills
Working with a safety and quality mindset
The preferred candidates for the above position would have experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial and process equipment including but not limited to the following:
Air Handling and Laminar Flow Equipment
Tensioning of belts and alignment
Knowledge of VFD’s
Knowledge of steam principals
Electronics
PLC’s
Clean rooms
Pump repairs, rebuilds, replacement
Motor replacement and alignment
Schematics
Single phase and 3 phase
Replacement of valves and piping system repairs
CMMS (example SAP, Oracle)
The position will be either 2nd or 3rd shift with a 10 to 15% shift differential
$8,000 sign on bonus
Training will be on 1st shift 6 months to 1 year, if possible.
