Job Purpose

Medical Science Liaison (MSLs) engage with healthcare professionals/institutions/payers; in a non- promotional manner, to identify and address their scientific needs. MSLs use their scientific expertise to communicate and form partnerships to deliver the medical strategy, capture actionable insights and ultimately improve patient pathways and outcomes.

Position Summary:

  • Evaluate a set of Key Doctors and collaborate with them on medical initiatives.

  • Understand construction of a patient flow/journey from diagnosis to therapy, to guide patient initiatives.

  • Create Awareness among Dermatologists, immunologists, and allergologists on the science of Type 2 inflammation and Dupixent.

  • Present data and disease management concepts on medical treatment to HCPs when requested.

  • Contribute to developing research opportunities (local clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies) and educational projects at academic institutions.

  • Provide therapeutic area support including responses to unsolicited off-label information on products & therapies, if requested by HCPs.

Main responsibilities

Thought Leader Development

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with current and future Thought Leaders.

  • Develop speakers and advocates among Thought Leaders.

  • Advisory board development of scientific content which is relevant and aligned with global priorities.

Medical Education

  • Disseminate scientific information including innovative medical education materials and research concepts to Thought Leaders.

  • Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare audiences.

  • Foster medical and scientific information exchange between the medical community and Sanofi.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and training of the sales/marketing teams.

  • Develop and maintain a database of relevant educational slide kits.

  • Scientific material development e.g most current and relevant publications.

  • Conference activities: active involvement for providing scientific supports, key (competitors) abstract identification, executive summary of presentations and posters from the conference.

  • Handling Medical Information in development and review of written responses.

  • Provide clinical and Scientific training for both medical and marketing.

Clinical Development

  • Medical insights on: Study site identification, recruitment facilitation and enrolment.

  • Discuss and support the submission of Investigator Initiated Study proposals.

  • Identify existing data and facilitate publications as appropriate.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Present evidence-based clinical and scientific data to support therapeutic decisions in patient care.

  • Contribute to the evaluation of grants for educational and research initiatives.

Medical Priority

Scientific exchange

  • Interact with HCPs based on medical knowledge ladder.

  • Collect Medical insights from KOLs.

  • Consolidate medical insights and develop actionable plan.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Engage with target KOL in regular basis.

  • Address medical inquiries. 

Execution of medical plan

  • Support in implementation of medical plan

  • Develop KOL engagement plan and develop potential advocates from top tier.

  • Develop updated scientific materials in support business needs.

  • Provide timely internal training and insight sharing.

Scientific Engagement and Exchange

To build and develop value-based trusted partnerships, through scientific engagement and exchange, with healthcare professionals/institutions/payers.

  • Execute the medical plan as well as global/regional medical initiatives.

  • Communicate in an accurate, fair and balanced manner the benefits, risks, appropriate use and clinical value of our products and solutions.

  • Operate independently (with supervision) and develops healthcare networks to navigate the complex local health care environments at national and local level.

Insight Generation

  • Gather data, facts and observations on the external healthcare environment to generate actionable and valuable insights, propose solutions and inform medical/brand strategy

Supporting Evidence Generation

  • Identify potential data gaps, contribute on data-generation activities including real-world evidence, supporting local needs for the clinical research unit (CSU), regulatory affairs, and market access functions.

About you

  • Advanced life-science degree (e.g., (MSc, PhD, Pharm D, MD)); skillful English and Mandarin (Cantonese if HK-based) in listening, reading, and writing. Good ability to evaluate clinical study protocols, reports and publications.

  • In-depth knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area preferred.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to simplify complex topics, good networking skills.

  • Familiarity with omnichannel tools and being able to communicate via digital channels.

  • Strong time-management skill and business acumen, understanding importance of timely building strategic plans and implement medical initiatives.
