Basic Purpose of the Job*
An associate brand manager manages marketing activities of an assigned brand either with supervision by a brand manager or with delegated accountability from the manager. The projects can be a whole range of marketing activities or some parts of them: new product development, brand strategy development, promotion activities such as advertising development, annual brand plan development and management. It is expected to collaborate with, and potentially lead, multi functionals brand team consists of R&D, regulatory, medical, trade & shipper marketing, finance and so on. It is expected that his/her activities meet the brand strategy and achieve the annual budget (P&L) and mid-ling term plan.

CORE BRAND/BUSINESS ACTIVITY:
Take responsibility on assigned projects:
- mid-long term brand visions, goal, objectives and strategy.
- Annual budget – sales and profit.
- Brand activities internally and externally.

Strategy and Plan:
- Short and long term Strategy and Planning outcomes- feedback from local and global stakeholders.
- Brand P&L to meet budget
Accountabilities (2)
BRAND MANAGEMENT:
Take responsibility on assigned projects:
- Brand marketing plans to grow the business.
- Sales results – drives a multi-function team
Related Performance Indicators
Communication:
- Brand KPI (e.g. awareness, key image attributes, marketing plan ROI etc.)
- Research Results (Next Connect etc).
Marketing/Action Plan:
- Feedback from stakeholders.

NPD (new product development):
Take responsibility on assigned projects:
- Product concepts - proposition and claims.
- NPD management - scheduling, forecasting, internal approval, etc.
- Package design.
- Consumer research to define the project direction.

NPD Plan:
- Timely internal approval (product development gates).
- Research Results (Package design/STM if applicable).
- Feedback from local and global stakeholders.
Launch:
Achievement of new product KPI tracking.

- Leadership on a brand team; not only GH marketing but includes GH shopper marketing, IPD (Innovation Planning and Development) and others.

Comments: Depending on his/her level, an Associate Brand manager is expected to support brand manager to deliver the results or to lead cross functional team on assigned brand projects –managing internal resources as well as external resources such as agencies.
