Our Team:
A brand manager draws and updates mid-long term brand vision, goal, objectives and STRATEGY. It also leads the operational activities of building and managing solid new product pipeline plan through collaboration with R&D; and operating brand equity building activities mainly through (media/PR/ brand communication plan Digital). Finally, it assumes responsibility to assure all activities meet the brand strategy and achieve the annual budget (P&L).
Main responsibilities:
CORE BRAND/BUSINESS ACTIVITY:
Accountabilities
- Establish and update mid-long term brand visions, goal, objectives and strategy.
- Deliver annual business goal (Sales, Share, business operating income).
- Effective manage the brand both internally and externally.
Related Performance Indicators
Strategy and Plan:
- Short and long term Strategy and Planning outcomes- feedback from local and global stakeholders.
- Brand P&L to meet budget
BRAND MANAGEMENT:
Accountabilities
- Deliver brand marketing plan to grow the business – including brand communication, and media plan.
- Develop Distinctive Brand Asset and Consumer Experience Plan based on consumer journey.
- Ensure marketing actions to secure the planned sales by working with commercial team.
- Assure the congruence of all brand activities to foster strong brand.
Related Performance Indicators
Communication:
- Brand KPI (e.g. awareness, key image attributes, marketing plan ROI etc.)
- Research Results (Next Connect etc).
Marketing/Action Plan:
- Feedback from stakeholders.
NPD (new product development):
Accountabilities
- Develop solid brand architecture and product pipeline plan with R&D in timely manner based on consumer needs.
- Develop product concepts with clear proposition and claims.
- Lead business side of NPD management - scheduling, forecasting, internal approval, etc.
- Deliver package design.
- Pursue consumer research and define the project direction.

NPD Plan:
- Timely internal approval (product development gates).
- Research Results (Package design/STM if applicable).
- Feedback from local and global stakeholders.
Launch:
- Achievement of new product KPI tracking.

- Provide strong leadership on a brand team; not only marketing but includes TSM, R&D and others.
- Manage and develop assigned ABM.
Organization Process:
- Lead and facilitate cross functional projects to improve operational efficiency and capability.

About you
Experience:
- Marketing management – market analysis, strategy development, consumer communication development, media planning, sales forecasting,
Soft skills:
- Leadership and team management
- Creativity or Creativity management
Technical skills:
- Project management.
Education:
- Degree / Education: Academic education, preferably business administration
- Major / Focus: Ideally: Marketing, Psychology, Behaviour science, Economics, etc.
Languages:
The ideal candidate for this position must be fluent in both English and Japanese, as they will be required to communicate effectively in a business setting in Japan and with regional stakeholders and participate in global business interactions.
