Time to Payroll, Benefit SME - JPAC
Sanofi Business Services People Services (SBS PS), is the team tasked across the globe with delivering Simplified, Harmonised and Automated processes that make up the full Life Cycle of an employee from the time they are hired and onboarded through the various roles they hold while in the company, to the day they leave the company.
One key interface between Sanofi and all employees throughout this Life Cycle is payroll and benefit.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Maintain payroll & benefit administration,
- Oversee the preparation of onsite benefit data including the collation of submissions from internal partners and third-party suppliers
- Become point of contact for payroll & benefit KL captive team, connecting with local and third-party stakeholder
- Ensure the completion of accurate & timely reporting to third parties including pensions & company benefit, together with all other reporting for Finance and business requirements
- Oversee preparation of ad-hoc reports as required in line with data protection requirements
- Develop and apply up-to-date knowledge and awareness of local legislation
- Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope
- Identify process improvement/ process simplification opportunities through elimination of redundant activities
- Drive the process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition for Japan
- Participate in global projects as required and if applicable.
- Liaise with HR COEs such as Performance and Rewards, TA, Talent Management to ensure Play to Win strategy in place.
- Ensure SBS People Services Executive KPIs Japan deliver with high quality and in compliance manner.
- Ensure that People Services Global Core model implement in Japan with minimal exception.
- Ensure that People Services process in Japan fulfill Internal Control framework.
- Proactive support KL Team to close the gap from Self assessment for Internal Control and follow up on Internal and External Audit finding.
- As a Change Agent for SBS People services new ways of working in Japan and South Korea
- Be part of extended Global SBS People Services Team.
The Time to Pay, Benefit SME reports to the Time to Pay Lead KL Captive and BP JPAC and is part of the People Services Regional leadership team.
He / She works closely with HR, Legal, Finance, ITS and Facilities management at regional and country levels and People Services teams in countries and KL Captive Centers.
Expected Skill
Functional
- Thorough understanding of end-to-end ELC & Benefit processes and activities (essential)
- Understanding of Onboarding, Offboarding, time & attendance, compensation, Japan taxation, benefits and pension processes (advantageous)
- Good understanding of HR process and activities (essential)
- Awareness of data privacy rules (GDPR etc.) (advantageous)
- Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (essential)
- Experience in running HR/Payroll services within a Business Services organization (advantageous)
- Good business acumen (advantageous)
Technical
- Good understanding of and hands on experience with HR / Human Capital Management-related tools & systems (essential) as e.g. Workday & SAP (advantageous), Time & Attendance, and Payroll system
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office with advance level proficiency in Excel (essential)

Background & Experience
- Graduate degree with specialization in HR or business administration
- 3 - 5 years hands on experience in HR, support areas, transformation project, HR Operations or related field in an international, multicultural, complex environment
- Experienced in payroll processes, policies, and systems landscape harmonization
- SME on Japan Labor laws, Government Regulations, Japan taxation, Japan Legal Statutory
- Experience in working remotely with different teams
- Fluent in Japanese and English
